Beefy with a confident attitude – the Audi Q7 is just as solid and fashionable as before, but a big difference from the earlier version is that it has lost a whole lot of weight.

Audi, with their delightful four-wheel-drive Quattro, has strong ties to winter sports. At the Åre women’s alpine World Cup they were there as main sponsors of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. Timekeeping was handled by watchmaker Longines, that often takes part in sporting events.
One of Audi’s great news this year is the new Q7 that will be launched this summer. Is has a lightweight body and a whole new chassis which has resulted in the car being 325 kilos lighter than its predecessor. Fuel consumption is also even lower. The diesel engine is a 3.0 TDI with 272 horsepower and 600 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 6,3 seconds and the consumption is 5,7 liters in 100 km. The gasoline engine is a 3.0 TFSI with 333 HP and 0-100 km/h in 6,1 seconds, guzzling 7,7 liters in 100 km.
If you choose the air suspension option, you get an amazing trailer-puller allowed to pull weights up to 3,500 kilos. Another engine alternative that we are curious about is the new diesel hybrid that does 0-100 in only 6 seconds and according to Audi will have a fuel consumption of only 1,7 liters in 100 km. Q7 e-tron quattro will be launched at a later date.
The interior gives a luxurious and modern impression. One of my favorite details is the new larger touchpad. The exterior has the same elegant and imposing image as before. One of Audi’s strongest points is illumination design and their Matrix LED headlights make our heads spin – great looking and even more fantastic to experience. At high beam, the system dims the light in the middle that otherwise would blind oncoming drivers, but keeps up full power at the sides of the traffic. You could say the headlight beams split up in a V shape around oncoming cars. This becomes possible because the high beam is made up of lots of individually controlled little LED’s. Totally brilliant!
The new Audi Q7 is impressive and has lower weight and the latest technology.
